Who Am I?
The infamous words by Derrick Zoolander. My name is Cameron Priem and I am a software developer from Brisbane, Australia. I studied Internet Computing at Griffith University from 1999 to 2002, and then straight from uni I started working locally in Brisbane on an animal shelter management system. I like to travel a lot, preferable where its cold so I can ski!! I love my family and friends, and enjoy live music.
Why would I start up a blog?
Yes… you’re right *another* blogger has emerged. We spawn like gremlins when you spill water on them, and we’re just as cute. So what’s the purpose of this blog? To help other people out there. When ever I come across a complex problem I turn to a book, if no luck I turn to Google. After a few clicking of links, reading long articles, and coming to a dead end, i move to the next post or forum which may be a bit more helpful. I try out what they suggest but it sometimes too is a dead end. This goes on until I find “the one”, the developer who had the same problem and was nice enough to blog about it so I can also apply the same fix to resolve the problem.
So I’m dishing up a healthy serve of what I like to call coding karma (low fat and low carbs), by posting answers to problems that I’ve had, so I can save the next poor coder some time when they come across the problems I have have encountered. But thats not it…. I may aswell take the chance to post stuff I think is funny, general stuff to improve life (health, execise, wii, music etc).
So I will endeavour to keep this blog rolling with high quality posts and try to make them as interesting as possible. The web doesn’t need another dead blog…
